The living world
600,000+ creatures
Tir Anferth is not a map with animals on it. It is a wilderness with a map on it.
Alive in the world right now:
- Herds that move. Deer, cattle and horses graze in their hundreds across the plains, and the hills echo with things that were never farmed.
- Hunters in the dark. Wolves, bears, spiders and worse hunt the wilds. Roughly two in five of everything out there will bite back.
- A living wilderness. Cave, marsh, forest and shore each keep their own creatures. No two journeys meet the same ones.
- Dangerous nights. Step off the Royal Way after sunset and you will learn why the Stewards say, Carry a good blade and a better plan.
The realm has been tuned to carry them all, so the world stays full.

Deeds, upkeep and income
All prices are in iron. 100 iron = 1 copper, 100 copper = 1 silver.
- Founding: 40 iron per deed tile, 20 iron per perimeter tile beyond the free ring, plus 2,000 iron into the upkeep fund. Every new deed starts with a free perimeter ring of 20 tiles on each side: it costs nothing to found or keep, and it keeps neighbouring deeds about 50 tiles apart.
- Upkeep: 5 iron per tile plus 1 iron per paid perimeter tile, minimum 2,500 iron a month, drawn from the deed’s fund after a 60-day grace period. You are warned before a deed with an empty fund is disbanded.
- Guards: 10,000 iron to hire, 1,000 iron a month each.
- Limits: upkeep is the only limit on how many deeds you hold and how big they are.
- Income: 10 iron and 1 karma for every 10 minutes online, 60 iron an hour.

A Heavily Modded Realm
More than eighty tweaks, and almost none of them are on the box.
Walk the streets of Albion and you will meet its people. Citizens go about their errands, travellers tramp the roads between the towns, and a few folk keep faith with the old ruins. Stand near one and they will speak, quietly, and only to you.
The Herald and the Stewards teach the realm one honest errand at a time. Fetch kindling, fell a log, walk the Royal Way, and the tools of a trade are lent to willing hands.
The fields keep their own clock. Crops ripen on a six hour cycle, and the world will tell you when the next harvest is due.
Faith runs deep. Priests pray without the long waits of the old rules, and their favour and faith reach higher than the old caps allowed.
Even fire has a purpose. Burn what must be burned, and the realm pays a bounty for honest cleansing.
The Watchmen keep a Vigil over long, unbroken work. If one asks you a question, you have five minutes to answer it. Miss too many and your skills come slower; the worst end in the Stocks. Answer, and carry on.
Fields can be sown, tended and harvested on any slope, so the hills are farmland now.
The wilds are crowded with creatures, from the herds on the plains to the beasts in the caves. The server has been taught to carry more than six hundred thousand of them.
Your voice has a place. The Speaking Stone takes suggestions, and the Stewards read them.
And a hundred small changes you will only notice when something does not go wrong.
